Incorporating film into my work made me slow down and focus on the moments my couples want to remember forever. Over the years I started adding 35mm, 120mm, Polaroids and Super 8 to my packages. When I thrifted my first Super 8 camera back in 2017, it really sparked the desire to be more intentional and to slow down when creating. Your photo gallery and your little wedding movie will be so unique and so nostalgic that you will watch it over and over again.
WHY DO YOU NEED SUPER 8 IN YOUR LIFE?

Super 8 is motion picture film format released back in the 60s by the good old Kodak. I got into shooting Super 8 by a total coincidence when I went thrift shopping for old film photo cameras and found this baby thinking it would look cool on my shelf. Little did I know…it actually worked and I fell in love with it.

The film look of Super 8 simply cannot be replaced by digital. It’s so one of a kind. The grain, the realness of hand held camera bring so much authenticity. For me the grittier the better. When I watch any Super 8 footage, I feel like I was there. It’s so powerful it makes me miss people I never met and places I never visited.

Each cartridge of film is long 50 feet which offers 2.5-3 minutes of footage. After the roll is exposed, it needs to be developed and scanned in a lab. Then I edit the final video together myself, add music or other audio and upload it online for you.

In today’s world of perfection, sharpness, photoshopping, retouching…I long for the the opposite. The real and the imperfect, because that makes me feel like I belong. It makes us relate to each other. And capturing love through that lens is perfection for me. It’s perfectly imperfect.

San Francisco elopement on Super 8
Joan and Brett flew from Texas to secretly elope at the San Francisco City Hall. It was a big successful for them and mine too, because it was my birthday and they got me a donut with candles at Outerlands in the Sunset. Total sweethearts!

The best way to get married (and save money;) Grab a group of your best friends, fly to San Francisco, elope at our beautiful City Hall and then rent a house in the middle of nowhere and have a private house party!
So real, grainy and full of precious imperfections. No fake fluff. Just old fashioned film and vintage cameras. You will fall in love with the cute sound of it when I hit the record button. Keep the film alive.
